in which I grovel for not posting regularly…
If you haven’t noticed, I kind of abandoned the blog. So much for taking a photo every day. Woops!
I have not, however, abandoned cordcutting! After the court issued an injunction against ivi, I panicked. I wasn’t sure what do with myself. I spent about a day moping, and then decided to tackle the quest to find an antenna. I’m not sure why I had been so intimidated by the antenna, but it was neither complicated nor expensive. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103077&filterName=Price&filterValue=%2410.00+-+%2449.99. It took a bit of troubleshooting, thanks to @janko and @cordcutters, but $12 later, I get all the same channels I had with ivi, and better yet, for FREE. I can’t believe I used to pay a cable bill when every channel I watched, save for USA’s Law and Order marathons, over-the-air. Additionally I helped convince my friend Samantha to cut the cord, too! Now she’s sending ME tips on how to hook up my computer to the TV for Netflix streaming!
I’m also back to trying to cook more often, and trying new things in the kitchen. My latest adventures? Tofu and capers. I actually like tofu when it’s in other things, so I figured I would buy it and give it a try. I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t often cook with meat at home, so tofu is probably a good thing to add to the repertoire. Capers are pretty fun, too. They add a nice salty zip to dishes, and I love them with orzo and tofu. I made this awhile back and it’s fantastic: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Jennifer-Garners-Shrimp-and-Orzo-230166. Then I made the lazy woman’s version with tofu, added some chickpeas, and still fantastic. Go me.
I promise to try and be better about blogging! And I will do my best to post about the cordcutting panel at the National Conference for Media Reform! http://conference.freepress.net/session/470/cutting-cord-future-video. Will you be there? Come say hi!
